About This Journal
The Journal of English and Applied Linguistics (JEAL) is a bi-annual open-access journal that publishes high-quality research addressing debates and current issues in applied linguistics.
JEAL is managed by the De La Salle University Publishing House (DLSUPH) and hosted in the Animo Repository, part of the Digital Commons Network (600+ institutions worldwide). Powered by Elsevier, it enhances global reach and discoverability through seamless integration and search engine optimization.
Editorial Policy- All submissions undergo double-blind peer review by two anonymous reviewers.
- Issues are published in June and December each year.
- Turnaround time is approximately 6-7 months (~200 days). This encompasses the submission period to final publication, including desk review and peer review stages.
- Open Access: No embargo period; all content is freely accessible without registration. All articles are published under the CC BY-NC 4.0, which permits non-commercial use, sharing, and adaptation with proper attribution. Commercial reuse requires prior written permission from the copyright holder.
- No APC: JEAL does not have an article processing charge (APC); accepted papers are published free of charge.
- All articles are archived in the Animo Repository and Digital Commons Network.
- As of October 6, 2025, JEAL has formally submitted a request for inclusion in the Internet Archive Scholar. Based on their standard processing timeline, the archiving may take at least three months before journal content begins appearing in their index.
