End OSAEC Now is a digital child-protection resource developed to strengthen public awareness, reporting, and responses to online sexual abuse or exploitation of children (OSAEC) in the Philippines. The website features Alisto, an artificial intelligence chatbot designed for the Philippine context. It provides information about OSAEC, Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM), prohibited acts under Republic Act No. 11930, and the possible effects of online sexual abuse and exploitation on children.
The platform supports safe and anonymous reporting and is designed to connect reports with appropriate law-enforcement agencies and child-protection service providers. It can be integrated into organizational websites and Facebook pages to make information, reporting channels, and support services more accessible. The accompanying Filipino-language educational material explains common forms of OSAEC, including online grooming, sexual extortion, livestreamed abuse, the production and distribution of CSAEM, and the commercial sexual exploitation of children. It also provides guidance for children seeking assistance and lists government and community reporting hotlines.
The website contributes to prevention and awareness, digital child safeguarding, and improved access to reporting and referral mechanisms for OSAEC concerns in the Philippines. View the website.
About the Project
End OSAEC Now is a child-protection initiative led by Dr. Melvin A. Jabar of the Social Development Research Center of De La Salle University. Its principal digital resource is Alisto, an artificial intelligence chatbot developed to provide accessible information and reporting support concerning OSAEC.
Designed specifically for the Philippine context, Alisto can communicate in Philippine languages and may be integrated into websites and Facebook pages. The platform aims to help individuals recognize OSAEC, obtain child-protection information, report suspected cases safely, and connect with appropriate authorities and service providers. The initiative is supported by educational materials explaining Republic Act No. 11930, forms and consequences of OSAEC, available support services, and reporting channels.
