Abstract (English)
With technology advancing and innovation sprouting everywhere, startups play a pivotal role in every country and in any industry. The disruptive innovation that startups can make has huge effect on their industry including its competition. This study investigates the impacts of business model innovation and business model validation to success factors of one technology-based startup based in the Philippines. This study used a descriptive research and exploratory research design using single case study. An interview and a written narrative answer response was conducted with the two cofounders of one of the top startups in the Philippines. A case report was written, and conclusion was drawn. The method of data analysis was descriptive analysis and content analysis and triangulation. The results showed that the startup have innovated their business model and validated the business model as well. The analysis showed the impacts of business model innovation and business model validation to success factors. The impact of business model innovation and business model validation to success factors is the influence to market scope, revenue and profit and growth of the startup by creating new products, continuously offering new value to customers and constant improvement and innovation of all business areas including revenue streams, cost structure, channels, and so forth, as well as collaboration and partnership with suppliers. We conclude that business model innovation and business model validation impact success factors. Startups should give importance to validation of their business model and continuous innovation of it as well. Startups should be customer centric and always consistently improve all areas of their business, creating new offerings, defining new processes and acquiring new customers and markets.
