Abstract (English)

In a world obsessed with success and productivity, Thérèse delves into the internal conflicts of Generation Z—young adults caught between personal aspirations, ambitions, and well-being. Born from a moment of introspection, the film challenges the modern work-centric culture, asking the question: Is all the sacrifice and ambition truly worth it?

Through this character-driven short feature, we explore the silent struggles of individuals navigating passion, practicality, and self-worth. The film’s storytelling is shaped by real-life reflections drawn from in-depth conversations with young creatives and professionals. Their dreams, fears, and regrets serve as the emotional core of the narrative, revealing the universal longing for meaning beyond career success.

Visually, the film utilizes natural ambient lighting, detailed set design, and a dreamlike visual treatment to create an ethereal yet grounded atmosphere. Ultimately, it serves as both a mirror and a message—urging the audiences to pause, breathe, and cherish life’s fleeting moments, reminding them of the simple joys often overlooked and experiences that make life truly fulfilling.
