Abstract/Summary

1st work. The present study is a venture to know the cost of education in the High School Department of Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion of Roxas City as shown by the analysis of the financial statements for the school years 1975-1976, 1976-1977 and 1977-1978. Primarily, it attempts to find out if the school is gaining or losing from the financial point of view as far as the high school department is concerned and consequently, to determine whether the school should or not raise the students' fees. In analyzing the cost of education of the high school department, the recurrent costs were utilized, computed through unit cost. The recurrent costs were classified as: financial statements, class programs, teachers' loads and payroll. Interviews were also conducted. Then, the data were analyzed logically and statistically and to determine the general trend of expenditures, the percentage relationship of the individual item to its respective total is computed. Specifically, this study attempts to answer the following questions : 1) What is the financial status of the High School Department of Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion during the school years 1975-1976, 1976-1977 and 1977-1978? 2) How much of the total amount collected goes to direct costs? to indirect costs? 3) What is the per student cost of education per curriculum tear compared to the actual tuition and fees paid by each student per curriculum year? 4) Do the results show a need of increasing or maintaining the students' present fees? 5) What implications will the findings bear on the objectives of the High School Department? -- 2nd work. This study aims : 1) to develop an organizational model of a high school 2) compare the organization of three high schools with the model and 3) develop for one school, a proposed program to upgrade its organizational structure.
