Abstract/Summary

The thesis mainly concerned about the bearing of the three institutions namely the EC-UNDP, the Community based NGOs and the local government of Palawan towards the promotion of Sustainable development in Palawan. From the funding that the European commission gives to the UNDP, it is being disseminated to the projects in Palawan which were handled by the community based NGOs.

The authors hypothesize that the EU through the European Commission Delegation in the Philippines was victorious in the execution of the sustainable development projects in Palawan for the reason that of the function and coordinated relationship linking the EC, the local government in Palawan and the various non-governmental organizations that were part of the projects.

In the Theoretical framework, this study used a framework inspired by the framework of Philippine Agenda 21. The three institutions organized into each other to promote sustainable development. It was clearly seen in the framework made the involvement of the local government a little indirect for the reason that, among the three institutions, the local government has the least connection tot eh EU-funded sustainable development projects in Palawan.

In the Methodology, the study used a descriptive method of analyzing the data. This method made use of qualitative data, such as books, journals, internet articles, reports, documents, and memoranda of agreement.

After the first three chapters, the authors answered the five. main questions in the introduction and the authors verify their hypothesis based on the answers of the five questions.
