Abstract/Summary

Across all industries in the Philippines, the telecommunication sector has found itself to be at an advantageous vantage point to be the primary users and providers of cloud computing in the country due to its distinct IT infrastructure and known expertise in integrating network and related services. With all this in mind, this study assessed and correlated both the cloud readiness and IT Maturity of the three publicly listed telecommunication corporations in the country with the use of an integrated framework of TOE and ISACA's COBIT IT Maturity assessment tool. It involved a series of interviews and questionnaires conducted to managers and IT heads for each companies in order to gather the data needed to generate a thematic and descriptive analysis of both the cloud computing readiness and IT processes maturity.

The study resulted in two companies achieving a high level or readiness with one company being at a lower level of readiness according to the contributing factors in the Technology, Organization, and Environment Framework used. In addition, all three companies achieved a maturity level of 3 which meant that there is no relationship between the cloud computing readiness and IT processes maturity with regard to the listed telecom companies.
