Abstract/Summary
This creative writing thesis is a fantastic novel entitled Godhead which encompasses a week-long series of mythical apocaplypses told in a postmodern mode. Three primary characters arrive by chance at the city of Oparo, at the far end of the world and in it fight to survive against plague, madness, political anarchy, strange prophets, and a storm that floods the world.
The novel is both at once a mythopeoia and a deconstruction of the archetypal heroic journey, as well as the narratives of fate, faith, failure, inheritance and salvation.
