Abstract/Summary
Del Monte Philippines, Inc. (DMPI) makes use of a three level distribution system wherein the tertiary trade (sari-sari stores and market stalls) were not being reached directly by the distributors. The company saw the potential for growth in this level, so it decided to implement the Cash Van Sales Program in 1988. After five years of operation, the program has proven to be successful in building distribution in the tertiary trade based on the study conducted by the students. Despite this success, the students saw that there is still a need to expand the program to reach the large number of untapped outlets in the tertiary trade.
