Abstract/Summary
The thermal decomposition of different types of Philippine woods will be studied under inert (nitrogen) and oxidative (air) atmospheres by thermogravimetric analysis using a commercially available thermal analyzer. This method is usually employed to study the kinetics of the thermal decomposition under inert or oxidative atmospheres of very fine particles (150 mesh) and very small weight (about 10 mg) of wood samples. The experiment will be conducted under different heating rates - 50 C/min, 20 C/min, 50 C/min.
