Abstract/Summary
This investigation exhaustively aims to design and fabricate a pneumatic spray painting robot for materials finishing in industry. The robotic spray uses pneumatic cylinders to propel it to its desired movements. Two pneumatic cylinders are placed almost parallel to the shaft, which allows the vertical movement of the arm. A third cylinder is found under the shaft, this is for the rotational movement of the shaft and the arm.
The robot is linked to a computer for its coordinated movement. A program made in Turbo C allows the user to input the co-ordinates of a 2-dimensional surface. The program then shows the shape to be painted. A step by step path of the robots movement is shown in the 2-dimensional drawing. This allows the user to have an overall view of the robot's movement.
