Abstract/Summary
Asteoids were collected in the intertidal area of Sigayan Bay, Laiya Aplaya, San Juan, Batangas from March to June, 1994. Identification of asteroids were done using key to identification by de Celis (1980). The identified asteroids were verified at the Philippine National Museum.Ten species of asteroids were identified. Under Order Phanerozonida, three species belong to Family Oreasteridae namely Protoreaster nodosus, Culcita novae-guineae and Pentaceropsis tyloderma three species to Family Linkiidae namely Linckia laevigata, Linckia multifora and Nardoa tuberculata and one species to Family Archasteridae which is Archaster typicus. Under Order Spinulosida, one species belong to Family Echinasteridae which is Echinaster typicus one species to Family Asterinidae which is Patiriella exigua and one species from Family Acanthasteridae that is Acanthaster planci.
