Abstract/Summary
As human beings we are social creatures. There is a saying 2Birds with the same feather flock together3. The question now is how much merit this actually holds in today’s society. The following is a qualitative research on the development and manifestation of herd mentality on the decision making process. The study aims to help further the understanding of this phenomenon and its effects are on everyday society. The gathering of data consisted of in-depth interviews to 12 correspondents from the top three schools in the Philippines, namely; De La Salle University-Manila, Ateneo De Manila University and University of the Philippines. Several themes arose throughout the study such as security, compliance, leadership. The most common of these themes are conformity, compliance, and the development of comfort, contributed to the development and eventual manifestation of herd mentality.
