Abstract/Summary

This study shares to see the differences in the study habits of Filipino students in California and Metro Manila. Fifty (50) respondents coming from California and another fifty (50) coming from Metro Manila, with a total of one hundred (100) respondents who took their secondary education on their respective places were randomly selected for this study. The respondents were made to answer a survey which was divided into two (2) major parts with three (3) sub-parts each. The first major part of the survey is about study habits of the respondents and its first sub-part is the time spent study of the respondents, the second is about their listening skills during class, and third sub-part focused on the note taking skills of the respondents while having class lectures. The second major part is about the factors that are suspected by the researchers that affects the study habits of respondents, its first sub-part is the use of technology of the respondents, the second sub-part is about the peer influence they receive, third is about each of the respondents family. Through the generated survey, results revealed that Filipinos from California and Metro Manila gave significant differences in their study habits and the factors that may have affected it. For the factors, family plays a big role to the study habits of the respondents. Linking the data from California and Metro Manila the results that the respondents gave meant possession of having good study habits. Based from the findings in the research, the variables in this study has been said to be factors that affects the study habits of the Filipino students from both California and Metro Manila.
