Abstract/Summary

Told through a Quest Plot format, Bintana is a short film that looks at the life of an eight year old boy named Javi, who seeks for a mother figure in his life, after his mother dies in a plane crash. As a film and narrative, Bintana looks into the topics of grief and loss, imaginary friends, relationships with stepparents, childhood, and best friends when diving into the details of Javi’s experience as a child. It is a study of a new format that exists in Philippine culture but is not always explored through the context of film.
