Abstract/Executive Summary

Sensor-activated portable lighting solutions revolutionize bag visibility for the modern consumer. On July 9, 2024, a shared struggle with low-light bag visibility inspired five student-researchers to launch GloUp as a functional lifestyle solution. The venture operates in the lifestyle accessories industry and currently accepts online orders during its active development stage. The project began with the invention of a compact bag lamp and evolved through targeted digital marketing strategies. This niche product offers sensor-activated lamps in versatile shapes—such as circles, hearts, clouds, and paws—paired with customizable charms. While the trademark “Give Your Bag A GloUp” remains pending registration, the business maintains proprietary rights over its brand identity and digital content. The venture operates as a sole proprietorship, with the Owner leading a management team comprising the heads of Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Production. Each member directs a department aligned with their professional strengths under the guidance of a research adviser. Targeting students aged 15–18, GloUp provides affordable illumination for bag interiors, enabling users to locate belongings clearly in dark settings. The brand penetrates the market through personalized designs that bridge the gap between utility and local student appeal. To fund the PHP 30,000 required for development and operations, the founders utilized self-financing through equal capital contributions. Rather than providing traditional investor repayments, the company distributes financial returns and products to visual impairment charities to fulfill its corporate social responsibility.
