Abstract/Executive Summary

Sumockses is a student-led sock company formed on July 22, 2025. The business incorporates local street food, witty statements, and local flower designs in its products, maximizing the “support local” initiative. The owners first disseminated surveys in October 2025 to gather consumer insights, then started formal, continuous marketing efforts on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok in January 2026. The brand’s target market includes De La Salle University students and athletes who are fond of non-plain sports socks. Currently, Sumockses is in its product maintenance and extension stage. Key success factors of the brand include: witty marketing strategies, unique designs, and efficient internal communications; additionally, Sumockses owns business rights to its brand logo and name. The business operates under an equal partnership and liability structure, with management roles held by the Owner, Finance Head,  Marketing Head, Operations Head, and Public Relations Head. This structure allows the owners to have minimal disputes and equal work contributions, and was decided based on individual strengths and expertise. The starting capital for Sumockses, which includes prototyping, manufacturing, and packaging expenses, is ₱20,000, financed equally by owners’ savings. Business profits are then shared equally among the five owners. Moreover, the Philippine sock industry’s 5.88% compound annual growth rate reassures owners that the market offers good profitability opportunities. Direct competitors include brands such as Socks Lang, Socks for You, and Identity Apparel; Sumockses distinguishes itself through Filipino-inspired embroidery designs, competitive pricing, and product comfort and practicality.
