Abstract
From a survey of selected micro, small and medium scale establishments in the food and beverage sector, one can draw insights into some of these firms’ behavior by way of cross tabulations of the survey results revealing differences in the approach taken by these establishments on pricing and in dealing with competition, depending on categorization as to asset size, legal structure, whether the establishment is franchised or not and whether the firm is clustered with other similar firms or are standalone entities. Differences in their approach to dealing with pricing structure, price adjustments, competition, average returns, forms of barriers to entry, main markets and business cycles.
