Abstract
If a new company plans to incorporate an e-commerce system in their business it is very costly. If ever they used ready-made programs, it is arduous to make them high quality and secure because they must know how to use the right tools and coordinate them. In addition, additional modules are expensive.
This study is about the utilization of an internet evaluation model called the web site quality evaluation method (QEM) which uses logic scoring preference (LSP) following the international standard ISO 9126 against a commercially customized e-commerce system and e-commerce system that was developed using open source technology.
The aim of the study is to promote e-commerce by showing that developing a quality e-commerce system can be achieved using open source technology. By making it affordable yet competitive, it will reach small companies making them expand their market and thus increase revenue.
