Abstract

Cultural attunement is viewed as a set of relational processes. In the academic realm, these relations are observed in at least three classroom environments, (a) between and among students, (b) between and among student teams, and (c) between and among student teams and their mentors. Classroom environments, in turn, can be described in terms of learning spaces and cultural diversity. Social identity theory and the resource-based view framework can help explain the relationship between cultural diversity and team organization performance outcomes. This study describes various aspects of cultural attunement—a key step towards managing innovation in business education under diverse cultural environments.
