Abstract
Chemical investigation of the dichloromethane extracts of Calophyllum inophyllum Linn. afforded friedelin (1), squalene (2), canophyllic acid (3), and a mixture of canophyllalic acid (4a) and canophyllol (4b) from the leaves; and 1 and taraxasterol (5) from the twigs. The structures of 3-5 were elucidated by extensive 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy, while those of 1 and 2 were identified by comparison of their NMR data with those reported in the literature. © 2015, International Journal of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemical Research.
