Abstract

Crew Resource Management (CRM) was introduced to minimize human error in the cockpit. Human errors have been one of the major causes of flight accidents. CRM aims to cope with any situational demands in the cockpit that would overwhelm crewmembers. Communication is important in coordinating with crewmembers in CRM implementation. CRM trainings play an important role in equipping the pilots with adequate knowledge in CRM implementation. The safety culture of the aviation companies plays a crucial role in CRM implementation as it ascertains management support for the program. This study investigates the effect of Crew Resource Management implementation in the safety culture of Filipino pilots. The objective in this study is to determine the effectiveness and acceptance of CRM training among Filipino pilots. It also wants to validate the presence of authoritarianism or power distance between Filipino pilots and how it affects their behavior inside the cockpit.
