Abstract
The National Structural Code of the Philippines 6th Edition 2010 has been updated and published by the Association of Structural Engineers of the Philippines (ASEP) in June 2010 to provide the latest provisions on wind loading as adapted from ASCE7-05. This paper intends to provide a guide to the practicing civil/structural engineers on the calculation of wind forces applied to tower structures such as self-supporting tower either for telecommunications or broadcasting use. Further, the paper will provide example applications of wind load calculations using analytical procedure in accordance with NSCP 2010 and TIA/EIA-222-G.
