Abstract

Nowadays, higher education institutions are struggling to raise its global presence to be recognized by the world which will help to expand its opportunities to its stakeholders. The De La Salle University has been taken many initiatives to be part of globalization in higher education and one of these initiatives is student exchange programs. Student Exchange Program is a program in which students from a secondary school or university study abroad at one of their institution's partner institutions. A student exchange program may involve international travel, but does not necessarily require the student to study outside of his or her home country.
DLSU is actively participating in the international student exchange program with over 13 multilateral agreements in various international organizations and 43 bilateral agreements with other universities scattered around the world.
On the other hand, there are two types of students who are participating in an exchange program. These are the inbound exchange students and outbound exchange students. Inbound exchange students are the students who are coming to the host university while the outbound exchange students are the local students who will go out of their home university.
In DLSU, exchange students are rising and continue to increase as it is moving forward to ASEAN integration and cross the threshold to the global community.
With this, DLSU External Relations and Internationalization Office prepare a program for inbound exchange student called the Lasalllian International Student Program for Involvement in Responsive or Lasallian InSPIRE will maximize their experience and share their global knowledge to other Lasallians.
The inbound exchange student program is designed to learn the Filipino way of life and Lasallian culture. The program is composed of various activities and programs with more enjoyable atmosphere. DLSU ERIO made this diverse program as the inbound exchange students transform into a well-being for the global community.
As educational institutions become more competitive, and are required to increase their standards, the arrangement and effectiveness of these two programs will hit the 5*10 year plan of the DLSU's global presence.
