Description

The DLSU Community was cordially invited to participate in “DQ Probed: A Deep Dive into Digital Rights” 9th IamInfoSMART Information Literacy Campaign on 16-19 November 2021.

About IamInfoSMART

IamInfoSMART, now on its 9th year, is the Libraries’ annual information literacy campaign in line with the celebration of the Library and Information Services (LIS) month every November. It is a week-long fair of exhibitions, learning sessions, and interactive games, which aims at honing the information literacy (IL) skills of students and raising awareness on the importance of IL in their pursuit of academic and research excellence. SMART refers to the ability to: Seek the right information; Manage retrieved information effectively; Assess information critically; Refer information sources correctly and Treat and apply information ethically.

About the Theme

This year’s theme focuses on promoting the emergence of Digital Intelligence Quotient (DQ), with Digital Rights as its main thrust, being a vital component of lifelong learning and digital participation. It aims to create better awareness of the trends and activities related to digital technology in everyday life and identify ways to propagate empathy and build safer communities. DQ refers to “a comprehensive set of technical, cognitive, meta-cognitive, and socio-emotional competencies that are grounded in universal moral values and that enable individuals to face the challenges and harness the opportunities of digital life” (DQ Institute, 2019).
