Abstract (English)
As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly integrated into human resource practices, its role in talent acquisition is transforming traditional recruitment processes. This study investigates the perceived acceptance of AI-enabled recruitment systems among applicants within Metro Manila’s IT-BPO industry, whose working address is located within Metro Manila, specifically those under the Philippine Economic Zone Authority and the Philippine Board of Investments, utilizing the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). A quantitative approach was employed, surveying 385 respondents using structured online questionnaires analyzed through structural equation modeling (SEM) and Cramér’s V for categorical associations.
The study concludes that applicant acceptance of AI in talent acquisition is driven primarily by perceived value, ease of use, usefulness, trust, and social influences. The result of the study would be useful for the concerned stakeholders to devise key strategies that would ensure that applicants’ perception of an AI-driven recruitment process would continue to flourish and would not be considered a once-forgotten trend. By doing so, companies that would adopt such new technology would have a likelihood of winning the so-called war on talent. Recommendation for future research exploration is also suggested, such as examining the influence of demographics, regional location, or an industry-wide study of an AI-driven hiring process, as this was part of the limitations of the study.
