Abstract (English)

This study assesses the impact of targeted organizational restructuring and process modifications on project control efficiency. It focuses on key processes, including Billing Process Monitoring, Monthly Project Update Submission, and Bond Monitoring. The analysis identifies both positive and negative effects of the restructuring efforts. While billing accuracy improved with a reduction in errors, overall billing efficiency declined due to a decrease in completed billings and an increase in processing time. Compliance with Monthly Project Updates deteriorated, with a significant rise in non-submissions and late submissions, particularly in complex projects. In the Bond Monitoring process, a decline in renewal rates and an increase in late renewals highlight gaps in compliance tracking. The study emphasizes the need for process automation, more vigorous compliance enforcement, and enhanced internal tracking systems. It recommends regular evaluations by the Project Control Group to ensure continuous improvements and mitigate emerging inefficiencies. The study provides SMDC with valuable insights into inefficiencies in key project control processes, including billing, project updates, and bond monitoring. It highlights areas for improvement, such as reducing delays in billing, improving compliance with project reporting, and addressing gaps in bond renewal monitoring. By implementing recommendations like process automation, stricter enforcement of reporting protocols, and enhanced internal tracking, SMDC can streamline operations, reduce risks, and ensure better project outcomes. Regular evaluations will also help SMDC continuously monitor progress and make necessary adjustments for long-term efficiency.
