Abstract/Summary

This project is a limited series composed of 21-minute episodes that give attention to the comforting prowess of food for individuals during the pandemic as it evokes memories that uplift spirits for the briefest of moments and how it can be used as a tool to become a coping mechanism during those times. It covers the history of the comfort food specific to each episode, the memories and sentiments associated with it, and the personal struggles each individual had during the COVID-19 pandemic detailing how their comfort food aided them through the ordeal.
The team constructed a thirty-six (36) page dossier for the series, which consists of the genre, pilot and series titles, loglines, synopses, with the writer’s statement, director’s statement, film treatment, the participants (talents per episode), sample poster, sample thumbnail, proposed production schedule, proposed financial plan, mood board, sample pilot trailer and sample opening billboard. The dossier's contents were strictly followed during production to ensure that the vision was kept. The proponents were able to shoot footage for the pilot episode trailer while in virtual contact with the talent for the whole day to be able to guide them with the set-up of equipment and background and for the interview to proceed smoothly. Some challenges faced were the restrictions and regulations the pandemic brought with it, as there would have been ample quality footage for an entire episode if the proponents were on-site with the talents.
