Abstract (English)
A home is a sanctuary, as it was before and as it will continue to be. A house is a physical structure built for humans to inhabit as shelter. The two differ in meaning and purpose but share the same foundation. A house should be a home to its inhabitant, though not all houses are homes, and not all homes are found in houses.
This production thesis examines how Generation Z (Gen Z) in Metro Manila conceptualizes the "dream home" as a profound symbol of liberation, psychological sanctuary, and identity. The dominant explanation for the dream home lies in its psychological dimension and the emotional forces that drive a person to assign meaning to their imagined spaces. Previous research has primarily relied on housing discourse rooted in economics and sociology, leaving a critical gap in understanding the psychological and emotional factors behind the idea of a dream home.
The study’s output is The Haven, a web magazine featuring three creative nonfiction (CNF) articles. These narratives explore distinct themes: mental health and financial precarity, religion and homophobia, and abuse and repressed personal identity, based on in-depth qualitative interviews. Each story is accompanied by custom illustrations, while the website is designed to simulate the experience of moving through a home. Each narrative is supported by custom illustrations, and the overall platform, designed for its digital native audience, has a recommended viewing time of two hours.

Abstract (Filipino)
Magkaiba man ang kanilang kahulugan at layunin, may iisa silang pundasyon.
