Abstract/Summary

The study assessed the high school students' awareness of their school's Guidance Program specifically the different guidance services it provided.
The instrument used was the Student Inventory of Guidance Awareness developed by Eugene Wysong in his unpublished dissertation.
The subjects included randomly selected second, third and fourth year high school students at the Zamboanga School of Arts and trades. It included interviews with the guidance staff which provided vital facts to support the study.
The study indicated very clearly that more students were not aware of the services of the school's Guidance Program.
Based on the results, it can be concluded that there is an urgent need to have a strongly well organized guidance program.
The researcher offered some recommendations which will help gain maximum efficiency in the implementation of a coordinated guidance services based on the present needs of the students. It was further recommended that the office will improve its facilities and that it employs qualified and trained staff.
