Abstract/Summary
Work-life balance has always been a hot topic in todays take on what characteristics the corporate world should have. Work-life balance is said to be significant in an individuals well-being, organizations health and society as a whole. Any conflict from work and personal life affects the workers well-being. This study focused on determining the association of work-family conflict and family-work conflict on the well being of individuals employed in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Sector in Metro Manila. Well-being is measured by levels of family satisfaction, work satisfaction and psychological distress.
This study is patterned in the existing study The Impact of Work-Life Balance on the Well-being of Employees in the Private Sector in Ireland by Malgorzata Kluczk for the completion of his degree Masters in Business Administration to the National College of Ireland in September 2013. The review of related literature are completely excerpt from the original study.
The study used quantitative research methods, and a sample population was chosen amongst participants who were single and in a relationship, female and male, with and without children, by using a convenient sampling method. The study used a questionnaire that contain existing scales where the Cronbachs Alpha Coefficients were above the recommended 0.7. The study is targeting to acquire 200 responses.
