Abstract/Summary
This study aimed to develop and test a model that predicts the causal relationship of civility, job satisfaction, organizational citizenship behavior and self-efficacy. This study also tested whether job satisfaction and self-efficacy mediate the relationship between civility and organizational citizenship behavior.
A total of 201 teachers of the Daughters of Charity- St. Louise de Marillac Educational System (DC-SLMES) in the National Capital Region (NCR) cluster completed the study survey. Four survey measurements, including the Civility Scale, the Job Satisfaction Questionnaire, the Organizational Citizenship Behavior Scale and the General Self-efficacy Scale were utilized to acquire data from the teachers. The causal relationship of civility, job satisfaction, organizational citizenship behavior and self-efficacy was analyzed by structural equation modeling (SEM).
Findings showed positive and significant relationships among the variables: between civility and job satisfaction, between civility and self-efficacy, between job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behavior, and between self-efficacy organizational citizenship behavior. In addition, the study also showed that job satisfaction and self-efficacy mediated the relationship between civility and organizational citizenship behavior.
