Abstract/Summary
I explored and followed opportunities in the development of organization design for a professional organization at the De La Salle University MBA program. The DLSU MBA Finance Society is an up and coming professional organization in the MBA program. It serves as a common interest group for MBA students interested to learn and specialize in finance. In addition, it holds potential for adding value to the DLSU community and to the society at large. This professional organization at the time of this writing is the only recognized organization in the DLSU MBA program that is focused in Finance. I performed insider action research centered in the development of organization design and strategic planning for this new organization. In this paper I collaborated with a small group of professionals where we planned and implemented the functional structure and organic design for the MBA Finance Society. We also encountered several challenges in the course of this study that we believe can be accomplished through effective implementation of organization design. There is also potential to use the findings in this paper to facilitate another cycle of action research.
