Abstract/Summary

Due to globalization and the highly competitive business environment, organizations are compelled to constantly implement changes and become innovative in their processes. In the past decade, Business Process Reengineering (BPR) has been one of the most popular change models to help companies increase efficiency and improve their performance through the application of Information Technology. Meanwhile, the workflow management systems framework is one of the tools that aid the application of BPR in an organization. With the management and control of both processes and activities of employees, workflow management supports the success of the BPR initiative. One of the tasks of Security Banks Corporate Banking Group is to provide for loan requirements of its clients through the Credit Proposal approval process. The challenge of the unit is to achieve efficiency in its process given its manual Credit Proposal approval process. This action research aimed to increase efficiency in the process by shifting the Credit Proposal approval process from manual to computerized method by implementing the Credit Proposal Online System.
