Abstract/Summary

EEALs success as a subsidiary company is largely dependent on service solutions and performance of our skilled employees. The 6S lean program is aimed at increasing employee productivity, promoting efficiency and bringing high level of quality service. This insider action research aims to collaborate with my co collaborators in the 6S committee that will help initiate changes to make the 6S implementation program a success. The implementation of the interventions are analyzed and evaluated against established related frameworks to guide the actions of the committee. In this action research, I used the Insider Action Research (IAR) methodology based on the Insider Action Research Model (Coghlan & Brannick, 2014) a framework where the researcher is an active participant in the organization. In analyzing my thoughts and reflections, I used the ORJI method. The action research implemented the interventions on collaborating with EEAL-Industrial Automation, identifying the role of each member in the committee in an Organization Chart and developing rewards program for compliance of the employees. Used as frameworks related to these intervention actions are Kurt Lewins Change Model, 8 Steps of Leading Change, Motivational Scheme and Group Development Model. Implemented interventions led to successful implementation of the program. Evaluation and feedback are gathered through one-on-one interview and group discussions. The Insider Action Research recommendations are (1) Continuous collaborative program activities with different business groups to attain efficiency and enhance talent and skills of employees and (2) Initiative on new IAR on construction of training program that will lead to learning new skills not limited to best practices only.
