Abstract/Summary
The Philippines is one of the best performing economies in Asia Pacific region on its contemporary status. Its bright star performance in the stock market has been gaining popularity among investors from different countries. But despite the fame that the country is receiving, it is still considered as a small stock exchange in the Asia Pacific region. A financial product development measure was done to boost the expansion of the Philippine Stock Exchange. With this, the significant Muslim population worldwide and the booming economy of the rich-oil Arabian Peninsula were taken into consideration in analyzing the financial product being introduced. Moreover, the upcoming ASEAN economic integration in 2015 is a plus factor. The listed stocks of the PSE were filtered based on the MSCI Shariah methodology and MyETF Dow Jones Islamic Market Malaysia Titans 25 approach to form the Shariah-compliant Equity ETF. This Philippine Shariah-compliant Equity ETF 25 is the product tool in increasing the size of the PSE that can possibly bring positive impact to the economy of the Philippines.
