Abstract/Summary

The case study is a combination of a financial and a behavioral case. It is a financial because it tries to bring out teachers financial demands which the school could hardly give because of its depressed financial condition. On one hand, it is a behavioral and administrative case because of the human conflicts in the case which are largely administrative problems. St. Francis Academy is a diocesan school whose tuition is quite low compared with other schools in the city. The school was opened to give a chance to the youth of the area to finish at least high school. But, the school is in the red most of the time. Teachers salary is quite low. St. Francis Academy cant give a big salary increase, emergency allowance and the 13th month bonus. The school applied for a 15% tuition fee increase for the living allowance for the year 1974-1976. Still the tuition fee is low, comparatively speaking. In solution to the problem posed in this case, alternative actions were recommended by the writer on the latter part of the paper.
