Abstract/Summary
A descriptive survey type of study was used by the researcher to gather the necessary data. This was realized through the use of two instruments, namely the faculty information sheet and the development needs checklist. The findings alluded to a need of a program of formation which would bring about a total development of persons. Hence, to satisfy these needs, a five-year faculty development program was proposed. This five-year development program aimed to improve the faculty competencies, increase their accomplishments and their concomittant satisfaction with their teaching. It hoped to bring about a development of one's personality. The essential structure of the program will be monitored by the School Administrative Board and the Faculty Development Committee. The School Administrative Board will be responsible for over all planning and administration of the said program, while the Faculty Development Committee will be responsible for the planning and implementing of the faculty development program in accordance with the general guidelines set by the School Administrative Board. This program is to be carried on under two features: the Degree and the Non-Degree Program. The Degree Program which is directed towards stimulating professional growth by sending promising teachers to graduate studies or to further development training composed of two strategies: Saturday and Summer classes. The Non-Degree Program is directed towards improving the teaching-learning process by providing the faculty with a well-planned and organized non-degree in-service program. This includes orientation program, pastoral care, seminars/workshops, faculty meetings, professional reading, and membership in professional societies. The entire program would be supported by the school through its budget allocation. For the duration of five years, the school can set aside a figure of P15,136.00 for the Degree Program, while an amount of P22,627.00 would be allocated for the Non-Degree Program in the same span of time. This would however be supplemented by the scholarship grants which the school hopes to secure from any of the organizations and funding agencies listed. The School Administrative Board will take in charge of these scholarship grants. A periodical evaluation of at least once a year would be conducted to judge its effectiveness.
