Abstract/Summary

The sole purpose of this study is to provide administrators and students with situations for them to analyze and apply management theories and principles. Two cases were presented in this study. The first was that of St. Filomena Academy. On November, the Order of the Holy Trinity Schools Superintendent met the religious community of St. Filomena Academy and announced that the Provincial Council of the order decided for the closure of SFA next school year for a new thrust in the apostolate of the order. This case is both for qualitative and quantitative analysis, specifically, enrollment and financial analysis and change theory application. On the other hand, the second case was that of St. Agnes Academy. Before summer vacation in 1976, Mrs. Galan informed Sr. Josefa by letter that she was giving a months notice and was resigning. When Sr. Josefa inquired what the trouble was, Mrs. Galan said that she had come to the conclusion that she had gotten about as far as she could go in this particular concern and that she had better look for another job. Sr. Josefa invited Mrs. Galan to come into her office and talked the matter over. It was revealed that she have been talking with Mrs Licad, Sr. Josefas assistant, at every chance she got to get her to talk with Sr. Josefa about her case. But the assistant always put off Mrs. Galans request. This study tries to find the connection between the communication problem and the organization structure of the school. This case is intended for analysis in organizational structure and the application of communications theory.
