Abstract/Summary
v. 2. Central Philippine University is a church-related institution. During its long years of existence as an educational institution, changes have occurred in the field of education, which have considerably affected instruction. During these times, there has existed a need for a tool for communicating actions of the administration regarding instruction. There however has not existed a faculty manual to fulfill this need. This paper is a proposed faculty manual for collegiate faculty members for this institution. The information used in the manual was gathered from records of the school-annual reports, school catalogues, board of trustees resolutions and minutes of its meetings. Books and legal provisions were also used to substantiate certain entries in the proposed faculty manual. The faculty manual includes policies on appointment, ranking and promotion of faculty, academic responsibilities, employee benefits, tenure and termination of services of faculty members.
v. 3. The Vice-President for administration on the day he returned from a seminar, found a letter on top of a pile of communication. Stated on the letter was the incident of a faculty member beaten by one of the security guards inside the university campus. Looking closely through the pile of his communication, he started wondering what incident the letter was referring to. Upon talking to the head of the security unit, the incident was confirmed. The Vice-President was place in quandary. He was given authority by the President to handle all matters regarding security. How would he now handle the situation? In solution to the question in this study, recommendations were given for the alternative actions on this case.
