Abstract/Summary
The author was tasked to undertake a practicum program as a partial requirement to complete his graduate course. During his practicum in Ayala Land Inc, Serendra Project, the author was exposed to the actual engineering applications of knowledge gained through academics. The author also has learned key aspects such as people relations, and decision making through experience which were not learned in the university. The author has also observed that the company hasn’t compiled historical database of previously awarded architectural and engineering design rates. This would be difficult for the developer to forecast consultancy budgets for future projects. The objective for the special practicum project study is for the author to prepare a database of prevailing unit rates of the previous years to the present for benchmarking and cost budgeting purpose for Architectural and Engineering consultants. In addition, the author was tasked to determine a partnering agreement scheme for consultants that are agreeable to both parties and is guaranteed both for the consultant’s sustainability and for meeting or exceeding certain budget objectives.
