Abstract/Summary

The Mapua Institute of Technology is one of the pioneering Engineering institutions in the Philippines, Its success in building excellent engineers made it one of the more prestigious institutions in the country. The Institute which was founded in 1925 is in its 79th year in the education business. With success comes growth and in 2000, it was acquired by the Yuchengco group of companies. Improvements were evident and new investments were created. Thus, Mapua Institute of Technology gave birth to Mapua Information Center, or more commonly known as MITc. As a wholly-owned subsidiary, existing policies and information systems were adopted. However, as a different entity which combines Academe and Business, some business rules do not apply. They study shows the design and implementation of a new information system for MITc making it independent from its mother company to efficiently manage resources, both from the management and operational perspective.
