Abstract/Summary
This study is concerned with the development and validation of modules on selected topics in SEDP Math II. Specifically, the study aimed to:1. Develop two modules on SEDP Math II which the researcher and her colleagues found difficult for the second year students. The two topics are:a. Module One - Linear Relation b. Module Two - Some Geometric Relations2. Validate the two modules The study was a two phase investigation: Phase 1 includes the development of the modules, and phase 2 validates the given modules. The data gathered in the study were tabulated and analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and t-test. The t-test for correlated means was used to find the significance of the mean difference between the pre-test and post test scores. To determine the significance between the post test results of the two groups, the t-test was used. The results of the statistical test showed that:1. There is significant difference between the pre-test and post test mean scores of the experimental group in Modules 1 and 2. This means that students learned their lessons through the use of modules.2. There is a significant difference between the pre-test and post test mean scores of the control group for topics I and II. This implies that learning took place under the traditional approach.
3. There is no significant difference between the post test mean scores of the experimental group and control group. Hence, modular approach is as effective as the traditional lecture - discussion method.
