Abstract/Summary

This is a collection of eight short stories that dramatizes the lives of Filipino sea merchants abroad. The first short story is set in the province of Bataan, where the main character and her family settles. The following stories are narrated inside the ship, abroad and within the Philippines. The focus of the collection runs throughout the perspectives of one family. Thereafter, the last story concludes the cycle of being a seafarer in the beginning and in the end as one comes back to his or her motherland.
