The higher the trait resilience is, the lower the perception of severity of stressful life event is. Furthermore, the result shows that emotion-oriented coping plays a significant mediating role between those variables. When an individual has a low trait resilience, he or she would most likely view he stressful life event as an impassable obstacle. Hence, the only way to win this over is by using emotion-oriented coping style.
