Abstract/Summary

The phytoplankton were found to belong to two divisions, two classes, four orders, fourteen families, twenty-three genera and fifty-six species. Division Chrysophyta (Diatoms) was represented by Bacteriastrum spp., Biddulphia spp., Ditylum spp., Hemialus spp., Chaetoceros spp., Coscinodiscus spp., Hemidiscus spp., Planktoniella spp., Climacodium spp., Dactyliosolen spp., Guinardia spp., Leptocylindrus spp., Rhizosolenia spp., Skeletonema spp., Asterionella spp., Thalassionema spp., Pleurosigma spp., Amphiprora spp., Nitzschia spp., Rhabdomena spp., and Division Pyrrophyta was represented by Pyrophacus spp., Ceratium spp. and Peridinium spp.
