Abstract/Summary
This study entitled A study on the correlation of the profitability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Petron Corporation, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation and Caltex Philippines Inc. from years 2001-2005 measures the level of corporate social responsibility of Petron Corporation, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation and Caltex Philippines Inc. from years 2001-2005, the top three performers in the Philippine oil industry. It seeks the effect of the CSR practices of the said companies of their profitability ratios.
The scores on the social performances of the companies were obtained using the 40 measures consistent with the measures used by Kinder Lydenberg Domini Co. of the USA, MHC International of Europe and the Bishops Businessman Conference of the Philippines. The 40 measures were examined and validated by experts in CSR in the Philippines.
