Abstract/Summary

This study focused on the impact of effective information dissemination on the students decision on whether or not to take part in the student exchange programs offered by a university, particularly External Relations and Internationalization Office communicative efforts in promoting their student exchange programs to ASEAN countries to their audience, the students of De La Salle University-Manila. This study looked at ERIO communicative efforts in promoting their student exchange programs for ASEAN countries via the different platforms they utilize such as emails (Helpdesk announcements), Facebook, and posters. The researchers conducted both quantitative and qualitative studies by conducting surveys to their audience, ID 115 and 116 organizational communication students and QCA on the posters made by ERIO in their Facebook page and the ERIO page in the DLSU website. The data obtained showed that there is a major problem in information dissemination as the organization, ERIO, is aware of the key information the students are looking for, thus, not being able to provide these necessary information deemed important by the students for them to take part in the student exchange programs offered by ERIO. The data obtained were used by the researchers to come up with interventions to help solve this problem. The researchers made a: (1) microsite to provide the students a single avenue where they can access all the information such as, costs, programs offered, itineraries, etc., that would help them decide on whether or not to join ERIO student exchange programs. (2) Informational posters that would promote the microsite along with two pioneer ASEAN countries (Vietnam and Cambodia) chosen by ERIO.
