Abstract/Summary
There are no means of producing a customized tape based collection of songs that would cater to the listener's own individuality. The prevailing process is done manually. In view of a new and versatile system, the Automated Recording Machine (ARM) applies robotic technology and computer automation. The ARM is similar to the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS). The ARM system consists of a cassette recorder that does the recording process and a computer controlled cylindrical robot arm that places tapes into the recorder and the storage rack.
