Abstract/Summary

Tres Marias is a compilation of three music videos of a female led independent band called Diana Rising. Since music video are a very influential type of entertainment to the youth, we chose to explore on this form to present a valuable theme particularly women empowerment and to veer away from the usual violent/chaotic themes present in music videos. The group has chosen this particular band because they tackle the different issues and experiences of women in their songs. Chromaticism talks about a persona's observation on the transgression of a dominant being. Ayoko Na Sayo , on the other hand, is about a character that is freed from an unhealthy relationship by deciding to finally end it. Lastly, Apoy express the point of view of a woman who notices the ugliness of what is happening in her environment, with the hope that someday the truth will set things right. The writer/vocalist's source of inspiration is her very own experiences as a woman.
